1) Rent Out Your Spare Space

Do you have an extra room you could rent out? If so, you could sign up for Airbnb and make money some extra cash by renting it out.  Airbnb provides you with the flexibility to rent out any spare room you have, on your own schedule. So even if you are uncomfortable with a stranger staying in your guest room while you are home, you can rent out your home while you are taking a vacation or work trip.  The rental income you receive can go straight towards your mortgage. Wouldn’t you like a lower mortgage payment?

2) Start a Blog

Blogging presents one of the most diverse ways you can make money online.  You can monetize your blog by earning commissions through affiliate marketing, creating a course, charging for a subscription for your blog, or allowing advertisements on your blog.

3) Drive for Uber

Uber drivers have reported making an average of $12/hr after all of their expenses.  If you don’t mind driving, becoming an Uber driver can be a very profitable side hustle.  Uber’s platform is incredibly easy-to-use.

When you drive during the busiest times of the day/night, Uber implies a surcharge rate which is dependent on the current demand.  If your a night owl, you can expect surcharge rates of 2.5x normal rates after bars close.  Do you know what the best part of surcharge rates are? Even though you are being paid more to drive during these times, your expenses don’t change! You would still be paying the same for your car expenses, you will just see an increase in your hourly pay.  Driving during surcharge hours, present yourself an opportunity to make $25-30 an hour.

4) Tutor

Do you have substantial knowledge about a certain subject? Maybe you’re very good at math or you are a history buff.  No matter what your expertise is, someone in your area is struggling in that subject. Start posting ads and searching the web for an help needed ads.  Now you can even use social media to reach out to potential clients.  Some tutors charge up to $50 an hour for their services.  You have the flexibility to set your availability and what topic you can tutor.

5) Sell Your Junk

We all have extra stuff laying around our house that we do not use nor need.  Take time to go around your house and determine what you don’t need. Once you find items to sell, take some pictures with your phone or camera.  You can signup or login to eBay, Facebook, or even create a Craigslist add and list your items for sale.  Do you know what the best part is? You can create these listings straight from your phone!

6) Freelance

You can find contract jobs to take on every now and then.  Freelancing is very flexible and you have the ability to make it work for you.  A lot of people are turning to freelance writing.  You can make over $1,000 a month, just writing articles for blogs or other websites.  Visit to search for available freelancing jobs.
